We had fun at our school camp out at Waitawheta even though it rained most of the time!  We slept in a big bunkroom which was lots of fun and very noisy.
The teachers had lots of activities for us to do inside and then on Tuesday afternoon the sun came out for a little while and we were able to go on the low ropes course.
The flying fox was our favourite and it really zoomed down to the tyres.
There was a man holding on to the rope at the bottom to slow us down!
Mia nearly fell off the slippery log but then she got her balance and was safe!
We had fun on the little flying fox as well because it wasn't as scary as the big high one.
Here are some of the things we did.
Welcome to SB1s world of Monarch Butterflies.
Well our caterpillars are all eating and we don't have much swan plant left for them to eat.
We now have 45 caterpillars, 20 chrysalis' and we have freed 4 butterflies.
Every day we have to put the caterpillars back on the plants because the small ones get knocked off by the big fat ones!
We are learning heaps about the Monarch Caterpillar and Butterfly.
We have been making butterflies and caterpillars to decorate our room.

Shaw Block 1 are studying the Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. We are growing our swan plants and looking after them to make sure the caterpillars have lots to eat because that is their favourite food.
We have been watching the caterpillars closely and we can see how their jaws work.

Three of the big fat ones have used up all their stripey skins and turned into a chrysalis. We are waiting for them to pop out to see what they look like.
