We had a school camp. We went to the Karangahake Walkway. At the bridge over the road we waved to the cars.
March
We have been very busy doing heaps of exciting things. Our class has had Swan plantsgrowing in our room for the Monarch Caterpillarsto eat. We have been watching the caterpillars out of their skins. We found out that they lose 4 skins before they spin into their chrysalis. We watched a caterpillar spin into it's chrysalis and it took a long time.
This year our teacher decided we should tag the Monarch Butterflies for the Monarch Butterfly NZ Trust.
We had to put tags on theirfiscal cell under theirwings. The female tags have to go on their left wing and the male tags go on their right wing. We hope that somebody finds our tagged butterflies and reports them.
